²⁶ And ^(A)He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.”

But he said, ^(B)“I will not let You go unless You bless me!”

²⁷ So He said to him, “What is your name?”

He said, “Jacob.”

²⁸ And He said, ^(C)“Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but ^[a]Israel; for you have ^(D)struggled with God and ^(E)with men, and have prevailed.”

²⁹ Then Jacob asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.”

And He said, ^(F)“Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He ^(G)blessed him there.

³⁰ So Jacob called the name of the place ^[b]Peniel: “For ^(H)I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

¹² Then he said to me, ^(A)“Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, ^(B)your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. ^13 (C)But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, ^(D)Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. ¹⁴ Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people ^(E)in the latter days, ^(F)for the vision refers to many days yet to come.”
