Doing Good to All

6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit^(A) should restore^(B) that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.

⁸ Above all, love each other deeply,^(A) because love covers over a multitude of sins.^(B)

¹⁷ Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers,^(A) fear God, honor the emperor.^(B)

¹⁹ Do not entertain an accusation against an elder^(A) unless it is brought by two or three witnesses.^(B)

¹⁷ The elders^(A) who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor,^(B) especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.

Widows, Elders and Slaves

5 Do not rebuke an older man^(A) harshly,^(B) but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men^(C) as brothers,

⁷ Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes;^(A) if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
