¹² And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant^(A) I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:^(B)

¹¹ You are to undergo circumcision,^(A) and it will be the sign of the covenant^(B) between me and you.

²⁶ While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it^(A) and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”

²⁷ Then he took a cup,^(B) and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. ²⁸ This is my blood of the^[a] covenant,^(C) which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.^(D)

²³ For I received from the Lord^(A) what I also passed on to you:^(B) The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, ²⁴ and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body,^(C) which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” ²⁵ In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant^(D) in my blood;^(E) do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

¹³ The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over^(A) you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.^(B)

¹⁶ And it will be like a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead^(A) that the Lord brought us out of Egypt with his mighty hand.”

¹⁷ So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant^(A) I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

¹² “Now then, please swear to me^(A) by the Lord that you will show kindness^(B) to my family, because I have shown kindness to you. Give me a sure sign^(C)
