^11 (A)I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

²¹ And when the Lord smelled ^(A)the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again ^(B)curse^[a] the ground because of man, for ^(C)the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth. ^(D)Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. ^22 (E)While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, ^(F)day and night, shall not cease.”

²¹ And ^(A)all flesh died that moved on the earth, birds, livestock, beasts, all swarming creatures that swarm on the earth, and all mankind. ²² Everything on the dry land ^(B)in whose nostrils was the breath of life died. ²³ He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only ^(C)Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark.

¹¹ Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, ^(A)what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,

⁷ But by the same word ^(A)the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and ^(B)destruction of the ungodly.
