⁸ as well as all the house of Joseph, his brothers, and his father’s house. Only their little ones, their flocks, and their herds they left in the land of Goshen.

^24 (A)Build cities for your little ones and folds for your sheep, and do ^[a]what has proceeded out of your mouth.”

²⁵ And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying: “Your servants will do as my lord commands. ^26 (B)Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock will be there in the cities of Gilead; ^27 (C)but your servants will cross over, every man armed for war, before the Lord to battle, just as my lord says.”

²⁶ Our ^(A)livestock also shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind. For we must take some of them to serve the Lord our God, and even we do not know with what we must serve the Lord until we arrive there.”

⁸ So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve the Lord your God. Who are the ones that are going?”

⁹ And Moses said, “We will go with our young and our old; with our sons and our daughters, with our flocks and our herds we will go, for ^(A)we must hold a feast to the Lord.”
