²⁹ After these things Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being one hundred ten years old.^(A)

Joseph’s Last Days and Death

²² So Joseph remained in Egypt, he and his father’s household, and Joseph lived one hundred ten years.

² Joseph commanded the physicians in his service to embalm his father. So the physicians embalmed Israel;^{(A) 3} they spent forty days doing this, for that is the time required for embalming. And the Egyptians wept for him seventy days.^(B)

²⁸ Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years, so the days of Jacob, the years of his life, were one hundred forty-seven years.

⁹ Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The years of my earthly sojourn are one hundred thirty; few and hard have been the years of my life. They do not compare with the years of the life of my ancestors during their long sojourn.”
