³ And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son ^(A)in his own likeness, after his image, and ^(B)named him Seth.

A New Son

²⁵ And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and ^(A)named him ^[a]Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.”

^3 (A)among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in ^(B)the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and ^(C)were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

³⁹ All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind ^[a]of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.

¹² Therefore, just as ^(B)through one man sin entered the world, and ^(C)death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is ^(A)flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, ^(A)“The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called ^(B)the Son of God.
