²⁴ And it shall come to pass in the harvest that you shall give one-fifth to Pharaoh. Four-fifths shall be your own, as seed for the field and for your food, for those of your households and as food for your little ones.”

³⁴ Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint ^[a]officers over the land, ^(A)to collect one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt in the seven plentiful years.

The Blessing and Suffering of the Godly

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

¹⁵ He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage, and give it to his officers and servants. ¹⁶ And he will take your male servants, your female servants, your finest ^[a]young men, and your donkeys, and put them to his work. ¹⁷ He will take a tenth of your sheep. And you will be his servants.

³² And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever ^(A)passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the Lord.

²⁵ So they said, “You have saved ^(A)our lives; let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.”
