⁴ I myself will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also ^(A)bring you up again, and ^(B)Joseph's hand shall close your eyes.”

⁸ and ^(A)I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and ^(B)to bring them up out of that land to a ^(C)good and broad land, a land ^(D)flowing with milk and honey, to the place of ^(E)the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

50 Then Joseph ^(A)fell on his father's face and wept over him and kissed him.

²¹ Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am about to die, but ^(A)God will be with you and will bring you again to the land of your fathers.

¹⁵ Behold, ^(A)I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and ^(B)will bring you back to this land. For I will ^(C)not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

Israel's Only Savior

⁵ ‘My father made me swear, saying, “I am about to die: in my tomb ^(A)that I hewed out for myself in the land of Canaan, there shall you bury me.” Now therefore, let me please go up and bury my father. Then I will return.’”

²⁴ And Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die, but ^(A)God will visit you and bring you up out of this land to the land ^(B)that he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” ²⁵ Then ^(C)Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.”

¹³ for ^(A)his sons carried him to the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave of the field at Machpelah, to the east of Mamre, which Abraham ^(B)bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite to possess as a burying place.
