³³ When Pharaoh calls you in and asks, ‘What is your occupation?’^(A)

³² The men are shepherds;^(A) they tend livestock,^(B) and they have brought along their flocks and herds and everything they own.’^(C)

⁸ So they asked him, “Tell us, who is responsible for making all this trouble for us? What kind of work do you do? Where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?”

² He chose five of his brothers and presented them^(A) before Pharaoh.

³ Pharaoh asked the brothers, “What is your occupation?”^(B)

“Your servants^(C) are shepherds,^(D)” they replied to Pharaoh, “just as our fathers were.” ⁴ They also said to him, “We have come to live here for a while,^(E) because the famine is severe in Canaan^(F) and your servants’ flocks have no pasture.^(G) So now, please let your servants settle in Goshen.”^(H)
