³ Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph. Is my father still alive?” But his brothers could not answer him, so dismayed were they at his presence.^(A)

¹³ On the second visit Joseph made himself known to his brothers, and Joseph’s family became known to Pharaoh.^(A)

⁵ He asked, “Who are you, Lord?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

Mourning for the Pierced One

¹⁰ And I will pour out a spirit of compassion and supplication on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem so that, when they look on the one^[a] whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him as one mourns for an only child and weep bitterly over him as one weeps over a firstborn.^(A)

So it is to be. Amen.^(A)

³⁷ They were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost.^{(A) 38} He said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

⁸ But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’s knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”

⁵⁰ for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”^(A)

²⁶ But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear.^{(A) 27} But immediately Jesus spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”^(B)
