²³ To his father he sent as follows: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain, bread, and provision for his father on the journey.

³ and the people of Israel said to them, ^(A)“Would that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, ^(B)when we sat by the meat pots and ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

¹¹ Then their father Israel said to them, “If it must be so, then do this: take some of the choice fruits of the land in your bags, and carry a present down to the man, a little ^(A)balm and a little honey, gum, myrrh, pistachio nuts, and almonds.

¹⁰ Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and departed, taking all sorts of choice gifts from his master; and he arose and went to ^(A)Mesopotamia^[a] to the city of Nahor.
