²¹ Then the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them ^(A)carts,^[a] according to the command of Pharaoh, and he gave them provisions for the journey.

¹⁹ Now you are commanded—do this: Take carts out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and your wives; bring your father and come.

Obey Authorities for God’s Sake

² I say, “Keep the king’s commandment ^(A)for the sake of your oath to God.

¹⁶ So all the service of the Lord was prepared the same day, to keep the Passover and to offer burnt offerings on the altar of the Lord, according to the command of King Josiah.

¹³ according to the ^(A)daily rate, offering according to the commandment of Moses, for the Sabbaths, the New Moons, and the ^(B)three appointed yearly ^(C)feasts—the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Tabernacles.

³ And they brought their offering before the Lord, six covered carts and twelve oxen, a cart for every two of the leaders, and for each one an ox; and they presented them before the tabernacle.

⁴ Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ⁵ “Accept these from them, that they may be used in doing the work of the tabernacle of meeting; and you shall give them to the Levites, to every man according to his service.” ⁶ So Moses took the carts and the oxen, and gave them to the Levites. ⁷ Two carts and four oxen ^(A)he gave to the sons of Gershon, according to their service; ^8 (B)and four carts and eight oxen he gave to the sons of Merari, according to their service, under the ^[a]authority of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. ⁹ But to the sons of Kohath he gave none, because theirs was ^(C)the service of the holy things, ^(D)which they carried on their shoulders.

¹⁶ So Moses numbered them according to the ^[a]word of the Lord, as he was commanded.
