²⁰ Never mind about your belongings,^(A) because the best of all Egypt^(B) will be yours.’”

³¹ On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.^(A)

¹⁷ Let no one on the housetop^(A) go down to take anything out of the house.

¹⁷ Yet I looked on them with pity and did not destroy^(A) them or put an end to them in the wilderness.

³ “Therefore, son of man, pack your belongings for exile and in the daytime, as they watch, set out and go from where you are to another place. Perhaps^(A) they will understand,^(B) though they are a rebellious people.^{(C) 4} During the daytime, while they watch, bring out your belongings packed for exile. Then in the evening, while they are watching, go out like those who go into exile.^(D)

⁵ As I listened, he said to the others, “Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity^(A) or compassion.^(B)

“‘Then you will know that it is I the Lord who strikes you.^(C)
