²⁸ May God give you of the dew of heaven
    and of the fatness of the earth
    and plenty of grain and wine.^(A)

    at the head of the fertile valley,
will be like a first-ripe fig before the summer;
    whoever sees it eats it up
    as soon as it comes to hand.^(A)

28 Woe to the proud garland of the drunkards of Ephraim
    and the fading flower of its glorious beauty,
    at the head of the fertile valley,
    those overcome with wine!^(A)

¹⁴ He grants peace^[a] within your borders;
    he fills you with the finest of wheat.^(A)

¹⁶ I would feed you^[a] with the finest of the wheat,
    and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”^(A)

    with fat of lambs and rams,
Bashan bulls and goats,
    together with the choicest wheat—
