⁵ Is it not from this that my lord drinks, and ^(A)by this that he practices divination? You have done evil in doing this.’”

^6 (A)And he burned his son as an offering^[a] and ^(B)used fortune-telling and ^(C)omens and dealt ^(D)with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

^26 (A)“You shall not eat any flesh with the blood in it. ^(B)You shall not interpret omens or ^(C)tell fortunes.

²⁷ But Laban said to him, “If I have found favor in your sight, I have learned by divination that^[a] the Lord has blessed me because of you.

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you anyone ^(A)who burns his son or his daughter as an offering,^[a] anyone who ^(B)practices divination or ^(C)tells fortunes or interprets omens, or ^(D)a sorcerer ¹¹ or a charmer or ^(E)a medium or a necromancer or ^(F)one who inquires of the dead, ^12 (G)for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And ^(H)because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. ¹³ You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, ¹⁴ for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.

¹⁵ Joseph said to them, “What deed is this that you have done? Do you not know that a man like me ^(A)can indeed practice divination?”

³³ Now the men were watching for a sign, and they quickly took it up from him and said, “Yes, your brother Ben-hadad.” Then he said, “Go and bring him.” Then Ben-hadad came out to him, and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
