⁹ Then Joseph ^(A)remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, “You are spies! You have come to see the ^[a]nakedness of the land!”

⁵ Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. ⁶ So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: ^7 (A)There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.”

⁸ And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.

⁹ Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, ^(B)the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.”

³¹ By faith ^(A)the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who ^[a]did not believe, when ^(B)she had received the spies with peace.

^20 (B)So they watched Him, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, that they might seize on His words, in order to deliver Him to the power and the authority of the governor.

⁴ David therefore sent out spies, and understood that Saul had indeed come.

²⁴ And when the spies saw a man coming out of the city, they said to him, “Please show us the entrance to the city, and ^(A)we will show you mercy.”

²³ And the young men who had been spies went in and brought out Rahab, ^(A)her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. So they brought out all her relatives and left them outside the camp of Israel.

Rahab Hides the Spies^(A)

2 Now Joshua the son of Nun sent out two men ^(B)from ^[a]Acacia Grove to spy secretly, saying, “Go, view the land, especially Jericho.”

So they went, and ^(C)came to the house of a harlot named ^(D)Rahab, and ^[b]lodged there.

¹⁶ These are the names of the men whom Moses sent to ^[a]spy out the land. And Moses called ^(A)Hoshea^[b] the son of Nun, Joshua.

¹⁷ Then Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way into the South, and go up to ^(B)the mountains, ¹⁸ and see what the land is like: whether the people who dwell in it are strong or weak, few or many; ¹⁹ whether the land they dwell in is good or bad; whether the cities they inhabit are like camps or strongholds; ²⁰ whether the land is ^[c]rich or poor; and whether there are forests there or not. ^(C)Be of good courage. And bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the season of the first ripe grapes.
