The Brothers Return to Canaan

²⁵ Then Joseph ^(A)gave a command to fill their sacks with grain, to ^(B)restore every man’s money to his sack, and to give them provisions for the journey. ^(C)Thus he did for them.

^9 (A)not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary ^(B)blessing, knowing that you were called to this, ^(C)that you may inherit a blessing.

^17 (A)Repay no one evil for evil. ^(B)Have^[a] regard for good things in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If it is possible, as much as depends on you, ^(C)live peaceably with all men. ¹⁹ Beloved, ^(D)do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, ^(E)“Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. ²⁰ Therefore

²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but ^(G)overcome evil with good.

³³ But ^(A)seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

^44 [a]But I say to you, ^(A)love your enemies, bless those who curse you, ^(B)do good to those who hate you, and pray ^(C)for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

An Invitation to Abundant Life

²¹ Then the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them ^(A)carts,^[a] according to the command of Pharaoh, and he gave them provisions for the journey.

Joseph’s Cup

44 And he commanded ^[a]the ^(A)steward of his house, saying, ^(B)“Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put each man’s money in the mouth of his sack. ² Also put my cup, the silver cup, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest, and his grain money.” So he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.
