¹⁴ Only remember me, when it is well with you, and please do me the kindness to mention me to Pharaoh, and so get me out of this house.

¹² Now then, please swear to me by the Lord that, as I have dealt kindly with you, you also will deal kindly with my father's house, and ^(A)give me a sure sign

¹⁴ If I am still alive, show me the steadfast love of the Lord, that I may not die; ^15 (A)and do not cut off^[a] your steadfast love from my house forever, when the Lord cuts off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth.”

⁴² And he said, “Jesus, remember me ^(A)when you come into your kingdom.”

⁷ But deal loyally with the sons of ^(A)Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be ^(B)among those who eat at your table, ^(C)for with such loyalty^[a] they met me when I fled from Absalom your brother.

²¹ Were you a bondservant^[a] when called? Do not be concerned about it. (But if you can gain your freedom, avail yourself of the opportunity.)

David's Kindness to Mephibosheth

9 And David said, “Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may ^(A)show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?”

³¹ my lord shall have no cause of grief or pangs of conscience for having shed blood without cause or for my lord ^(A)working salvation himself. And when the Lord has dealt well with my lord, then remember your servant.”
