⁷ and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!”^(A)

¹¹ But when she took it to him to eat, he grabbed^(A) her and said, “Come to bed with me, my sister.”^(B)

¹⁴ With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce^(A) the unstable;^(B) they are experts in greed^(C)—an accursed brood!^(D)

³⁴ So in your prostitution you are the opposite of others; no one runs after you for your favors. You are the very opposite, for you give payment and none is given to you.

¹⁶ For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh,^(A) the lust of the eyes,^(B) and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

²⁸ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.^(A)

¹² She too lusted after the Assyrians—governors and commanders, warriors in full dress, mounted horsemen, all handsome young men.^{(A) 13} I saw that she too defiled herself; both of them went the same way.^(B)

¹⁴ “But she carried her prostitution still further. She saw men portrayed on a wall,^(C) figures of Chaldeans^[a] portrayed in red,^{(D) 15} with belts^(E) around their waists and flowing turbans on their heads; all of them looked like Babylonian chariot officers, natives of Chaldea.^{[b] 16} As soon as she saw them, she lusted after them and sent messengers^(F) to them in Chaldea.^(G)

⁵ “Oholah engaged in prostitution while she was still mine; and she lusted after her lovers, the Assyrians^(A)—warriors^{(B) 6} clothed in blue, governors and commanders, all of them handsome young men, and mounted horsemen.
