²¹ the Lord was with him;^(A) he showed him kindness^(B) and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.^(C)

²¹ “And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed^(A) toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed.^(B)

¹⁷ For it is better, if it is God’s will,^(A) to suffer for doing good^(B) than for doing evil.

More Than Conquerors

³¹ What, then, shall we say in response to these things?^(A) If God is for us,^(B) who can be against us?^{(C) 32} He who did not spare his own Son,^(D) but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

⁹ “Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph,^(A) they sold him as a slave into Egypt.^(B) But God was with him^{(C) 10} and rescued him from all his troubles. He gave Joseph wisdom and enabled him to gain the goodwill of Pharaoh king of Egypt. So Pharaoh made him ruler over Egypt and all his palace.^(D)

³ (The Lord made the Egyptians favorably disposed^(A) toward the people, and Moses himself was highly regarded^(B) in Egypt by Pharaoh’s officials and by the people.)
