¹⁹ When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, “This is how your slave treated me,” he burned with anger.^(A)

¹¹ For this reason God sends them^(A) a powerful delusion^(B) so that they will believe the lie^(C)

¹⁶ “I told them that it is not the Roman custom to hand over anyone before they have faced their accusers and have had an opportunity to defend themselves against the charges.^(A)

⁵ but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

⁶ Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry?^(A) Why is your face downcast?
