²⁹ But just then he drew back his hand and out came his brother, and she said, “What a breach you have made for yourself!” Therefore he was named Perez.^[a](A)

³ and Judah the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Aram,^(A)

⁴ His daughter-in-law Tamar also bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.^(A)

²⁰ The descendants of Judah by their clans were: of Shelah, the clan of the Shelanites; of Perez, the clan of the Perezites; of Zerah, the clan of the Zerahites.

¹² The children of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan), and the children of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.^(A)

⁶ All the descendants of Perez who lived in Jerusalem were four hundred sixty-eight valiant warriors.

¹² and, through the children that the Lord will give you by this young woman, may your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah.”^(A)

⁴ And in Jerusalem lived some of the Judahites and the Benjaminites. Of the Judahites: Athaiah son of Uzziah son of Zechariah son of Amariah son of Shephatiah son of Mahalalel, of the descendants of Perez;^(A)

⁴ Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, from the sons of Perez son of Judah.
