²³ “Then let her keep the things I gave her,” Judah said. “I sent the young goat as we agreed, but you couldn’t find her. We’d be the laughingstock of the village if we went back again to look for her.”

¹² It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.

² We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.

²¹ And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom.
