³ Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was ^(A)the son of his old age. Also he ^(B)made him a tunic of many colors.

²² Then the disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom He spoke.

²³ Now ^(A)there was ^[a]leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.

¹⁸ Now she had on ^(A)a robe of many colors, for the king’s virgin daughters wore such apparel. And his servant put her out and bolted the door behind her.

³² Then they sent the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father and said, “We have found this. Do you know whether it is your son’s tunic or not?”

²³ So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers, that they ^(A)stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him.

^35 (A)The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.

^16 (A)You took some of your garments and adorned multicolored ^[a]high places for yourself, and played the harlot on them. Such things should not happen, nor be.

²⁰ And we said to my lord, ‘We have a father, an old man, and ^(A)a child of his old age, who is young; his brother is ^(B)dead, and he ^(C)alone is left of his mother’s children, and his ^(D)father loves him.’ ²¹ Then you said to your servants, ^(E)‘Bring him down to me, that I may set my eyes on him.’ ²² And we said to my lord, ‘The lad cannot leave his father, for if he should leave his father, his father would die.’ ²³ But you said to your servants, ^(F)‘Unless your youngest brother comes down with you, you shall see my face no more.’

²⁴ “So it was, when we went up to your servant my father, that we told him the words of my lord. ²⁵ And ^(G)our father said, ‘Go back and buy us a little food.’ ²⁶ But we said, ‘We cannot go down; if our youngest brother is with us, then we will go down; for we may not see the man’s face unless our youngest brother is with us.’ ²⁷ Then your servant my father said to us, ‘You know that ^(H)my wife bore me two sons; ²⁸ and the one went out from me, and I said, ^(I)“Surely he is torn to pieces”; and I have not seen him since. ²⁹ But if you ^(J)take this one also from me, and calamity befalls him, you shall bring down my gray hair with sorrow to the grave.’

³⁰ “Now therefore, when I come to your servant my father, and the lad is not with us, since ^(K)his life is bound up in the lad’s life,
