⁶ But the land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together.^(A)

⁸ The whole land of Canaan,^(A) where you now reside as a foreigner,^(B) I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you;^(C) and I will be their God.^(D)”

⁴ May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham,^(A) so that you may take possession of the land^(B) where you now reside as a foreigner,^(C) the land God gave to Abraham.”

⁹ By faith he made his home in the promised land^(A) like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents,^(B) as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.^(C)
