²⁶ and the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s maidservant, were Gad and Asher. These were the sons of Jacob who were born to him in Padan Aram.

¹⁶ The sons of Gad were ^[a]Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, ^[b]Ezbon, Eri, ^[c]Arodi, and Areli. ^17 (A)The sons of Asher were Jimnah, Ishuah, Isui, Beriah, and Serah, their sister. And the sons of Beriah were Heber and Malchiel. ^18 (B)These were the sons of Zilpah, ^(C)whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter; and these she bore to Jacob: sixteen persons.

¹⁸ And so it was, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name ^[a]Ben-Oni; but his father called him ^[b]Benjamin.

¹⁸ And he carried away all his livestock and all his possessions which he had gained, his acquired livestock which he had gained in Padan Aram, to go to his father Isaac in the land of ^(A)Canaan.

⁹ When Leah saw that she had stopped bearing, she took Zilpah her maid and ^(A)gave her to Jacob as wife. ¹⁰ And Leah’s maid Zilpah bore Jacob a son. ¹¹ Then Leah said, ^[a]“A troop comes!” So she called his name ^[b]Gad. ¹² And Leah’s maid Zilpah bore Jacob a second son. ¹³ Then Leah said, “I am happy, for the daughters ^(B)will call me blessed.” So she called his name ^[c]Asher.

²⁰ Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife, ^(A)the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, ^(B)the sister of Laban the Syrian.

^2 (A)Arise, go to ^(B)Padan Aram, to the house of ^(C)Bethuel your mother’s father; and take yourself a wife from there of the daughters of ^(D)Laban your mother’s brother.
