² So Jacob said to his ^(A)household and to all who were with him, “Put away ^(B)the foreign gods that are among you and ^(C)purify yourselves and change your garments.

¹⁴ So Moses ^(A)went down from the mountain to the people and ^(B)consecrated the people; ^(C)and they washed their garments.

¹⁰ the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and ^(A)consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them ^(B)wash their garments

^8 (A)Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. ^(B)Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and ^(C)purify your hearts, ^(D)you double-minded.

²² let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts ^(A)sprinkled clean ^(B)from an evil conscience and our bodies ^(C)washed with pure water.

A Living Stone and a Holy People

2 ^(A)So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. ^2 (B)Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual ^(C)milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation—

7 Since we have these promises, beloved, ^(A)let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body^[a] and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

^25 (A)I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from ^(B)all your uncleannesses, and ^(C)from all your idols ^(D)I will cleanse you.

^31 (A)Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and ^(B)make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! ^(C)Why will you die, O house of Israel?
