¹⁴ Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone, and he poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it.^(A)

¹⁸ So Jacob rose early in the morning, and he took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on the top of it.^{(A) 19} He called that place Bethel,^[a] but the name of the city was Luz at the first.^(B)

¹² Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Jeshanah^[a] and named it Ebenezer,^[b] for he said, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”^(A)

¹⁵ And Moses built an altar and called it, The Lord is my banner.

²⁰ and Jacob set up a pillar at her grave; it is the pillar of Rachel’s tomb, which is there to this day.^(A)
