¹⁴ And Jacob ^(A)set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it.

¹⁸ So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up ^(A)for a pillar ^(B)and poured oil on the top of it. ¹⁹ He called the name of that place ^(C)Bethel,^[a] but the name of the city was Luz at the first.

¹² Then Samuel ^(A)took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen^[a] and called its name Ebenezer;^[b] for he said, “Till now the Lord has helped us.”

¹⁵ And Moses ^(A)built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord Is My Banner,

²⁰ and Jacob set up a pillar over her tomb. It is ^(A)the pillar of Rachel's tomb, which is there to this day.

⁴⁵ So Jacob ^(A)took a stone and set it up as a pillar.
