¹⁰ You can settle among us;^(A) the land is open to you.^(B) Live in it, trade^[a] in it,^(C) and acquire property in it.^(D)”

²⁷ Now the Israelites settled in Egypt in the region of Goshen.^(A) They acquired property there^(B) and were fruitful and increased greatly in number.^(C)

³⁴ But bring your youngest brother to me so I will know that you are not spies but honest men.^(A) Then I will give your brother back to you,^(B) and you can trade^[a] in the land.^(C)’”

¹⁵ And Abimelek said, “My land is before you; live wherever you like.”^(A)

⁹ Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.”^(A)

²¹ “These men are friendly toward us,” they said. “Let them live in our land and trade in it;^(A) the land has plenty of room for them. We can marry their daughters and they can marry ours.^{(B) 22} But the men will agree to live with us as one people only on the condition that our males be circumcised,^(C) as they themselves are. ²³ Won’t their livestock, their property and all their other animals become ours?^(D) So let us agree to their terms, and they will settle among us.^(E)”
