²⁶ Then Laban said to Jacob, “What have you done?^(A) You’ve deceived me,^(B) and you’ve carried off my daughters like captives in war.^(C)

² and had taken captive the women and everyone else in it, both young and old. They killed none of them, but carried them off as they went on their way.

²⁹ “Now what have I done?” said David. “Can’t I even speak?”

⁴³ Then Saul said to Jonathan, “Tell me what you have done.”^(A)

So Jonathan told him, “I tasted a little honey^(B) with the end of my staff. And now I must die!”

¹⁹ Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory^(A) to the Lord, the God of Israel, and honor him. Tell^(B) me what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

²⁹ They carried off all their wealth and all their women and children,^(A) taking as plunder^(B) everything in the houses.^(C)

³⁶ Jacob was angry and took Laban to task. “What is my crime?” he asked Laban. “How have I wronged^(A) you that you hunt me down?^(B)

¹⁶ Surely all the wealth that God took away from our father belongs to us and our children.^(A) So do whatever God has told you.”

¹⁰ Then Abimelek said, “What is this you have done to us?^(A) One of the men might well have slept with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us.”

⁹ Then Abimelek called Abraham in and said, “What have you done to us? How have I wronged you that you have brought such great guilt upon me and my kingdom? You have done things to me that should never be done.^(A)” ¹⁰ And Abimelek asked Abraham, “What was your reason for doing this?”
