¹⁸ And he carried away all his livestock and all his possessions which he had gained, his acquired livestock which he had gained in Padan Aram, to go to his father Isaac in the land of ^(A)Canaan.

Death of Isaac

²⁷ Then Jacob came to his father Isaac at ^(A)Mamre, or ^(B)Kirjath Arba^[a] (that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had dwelt. ²⁸ Now the days of Isaac were one hundred and eighty years. ²⁹ So Isaac breathed his last and died, and ^(C)was ^[b]gathered to his people, being old and full of days. And ^(D)his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

²¹ so that ^(A)I come back to my father’s house in peace, ^(B)then the Lord shall be my God.

Jacob Escapes from Esau

⁴¹ So Esau ^(A)hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, ^(B)“The days of mourning for my father ^[a]are at hand; ^(C)then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

Isaac Blesses Jacob

27 Now it came to pass, when Isaac was ^(A)old and ^(B)his eyes were so dim that he could not see, that he called Esau his older son and said to him, “My son.”

And he answered him, “Here I am.”

² Then he said, “Behold now, I am old. I ^(C)do not know the day of my death.
