¹² And He said, ‘Lift your eyes now and see, all the rams which leap on the flocks are streaked, speckled, and gray-spotted; for ^(A)I have seen all that Laban is doing to you.

⁷ And the Lord said: ^(A)“I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry ^(B)because of their taskmasters, ^(C)for I know their ^[a]sorrows.

¹⁵ Each day ^(A)you shall give him his wages, and not let the sun go down on it, for he is poor and has set his heart on it; ^(B)lest he cry out against you to the Lord, and it be sin to you.

^42 (A)Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham and ^(B)the Fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. ^(C)God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and ^(D)rebuked you last night.”

⁹ And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that ^[a]your own ^(A)Master also is in heaven, and ^(B)there is no partiality with Him.

³⁴ I have surely ^(A)seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will ^(B)send you to Egypt.” ’

The Vanity of Gain and Honor

⁸ If you ^(A)see the oppression of the poor, and the violent ^[a]perversion of justice and righteousness in a province, do not marvel at the matter; for ^(B)high official watches over high official, and higher officials are over them.
