¹⁵ But she said to her, “Wasn’t it enough^(A) that you took away my husband? Will you take my son’s mandrakes too?”

“Very well,” Rachel said, “he can sleep with you tonight in return for your son’s mandrakes.”^(B)

¹³ Isn’t it enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey^(A) to kill us in the wilderness?^(B) And now you also want to lord it over us!^(C)

³ I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.

⁴⁷ You not only followed their ways and copied their detestable practices, but in all your ways you soon became more depraved than they.^(A)

¹³ Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David!^(A) Is it not enough^(B) to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience^(C) of my God^(D) also?

⁹ Isn’t it enough^(A) for you that the God of Israel has separated you from the rest of the Israelite community and brought you near himself to do the work at the Lord’s tabernacle and to stand before the community and minister to them?^{(B) 10} He has brought you and all your fellow Levites near himself, but now you are trying to get the priesthood too.^(C)
