²⁴ And Laban gave his maid ^(A)Zilpah to his daughter Leah as a maid.

⁹ When Leah saw that she had stopped bearing, she took Zilpah her maid and ^(A)gave her to Jacob as wife. ¹⁰ And Leah’s maid Zilpah bore Jacob a son. ¹¹ Then Leah said, ^[a]“A troop comes!” So she called his name ^[b]Gad. ¹² And Leah’s maid Zilpah bore Jacob a second son.

Hagar and Ishmael

16 Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, ^(A)had borne him no children. And she had ^(B)an Egyptian maidservant whose name was ^(C)Hagar.

^18 (A)These were the sons of Zilpah, ^(B)whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter; and these she bore to Jacob: sixteen persons.

⁵⁹ So they sent away Rebekah their sister ^(A)and her nurse, and Abraham’s servant and his men.
