²³ But he did not recognize Jacob, because Jacob’s hands felt hairy just like Esau’s. So Isaac prepared to bless Jacob.

²⁰ It was by faith that Isaac promised blessings for the future to his sons, Jacob and Esau.

¹⁶ She covered his arms and the smooth part of his neck with the skin of the young goats.

¹¹ But before they were born, before they had done anything good or bad, she received a message from God. (This message shows that God chooses people according to his own purposes; ¹² he calls people, but not according to their good or bad works.) She was told, “Your older son will serve your younger son.”^[a]
