²⁹ that you will do us no harm, since we have not touched you, and since we have done nothing to you but good and have sent you away in peace. ^(A)You are now the blessed of the Lord.’ ”

³¹ And he said, “Come in, ^(A)O blessed of the Lord! Why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house, and a place for the camels.”

A Covenant with Abimelech

²² And it came to pass at that time that ^(A)Abimelech and Phichol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham, saying, ^(B)“God is with you in all that you do.

¹⁷ blessing I will ^(A)bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants ^(B)as the stars of the heaven ^(C)and as the sand which is on the seashore; and ^(D)your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

¹⁴ for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines ^(A)envied him. ¹⁵ Now the Philistines had stopped up all the wells ^(B)which his father’s servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, and they had filled them with earth.

¹¹ So Abimelech charged all his people, saying, “He who ^(A)touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.”

¹² Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year ^(B)a hundredfold; and the Lord ^(C)blessed him.
