³⁴ And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then ^(A)he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau ^(B)despised his birthright.

¹⁶ lest there be any ^(A)fornicator or ^[a]profane person like Esau, ^(B)who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. ¹⁷ For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was ^(C)rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.

¹⁸ For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are ^(A)the enemies of the cross of Christ: ^19 (B)whose end is destruction, ^(C)whose god is their belly, and ^(D)whose glory is in their shame—^(E)who set their mind on earthly things.

³² If, in the manner of men, ^(A)I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, ^(B)“Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

¹⁸ But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.’ ¹⁹ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’ ²⁰ Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’

¹⁵ and said, ^(A)“What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.

⁵ But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business.

¹³ And the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the ^(A)potter”—that princely price they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the Lord for the potter.
