⁵⁴ And he and the men who were with him ate and drank and stayed all night. Then they arose in the morning, and he said, ^(A)“Send me away to my master.”

⁵⁶ And he said to them, “Do not ^[a]hinder me, since the Lord has prospered my way; send me away so that I may go to my master.”

⁵⁹ So they sent away Rebekah their sister ^(A)and her nurse, and Abraham’s servant and his men.

¹⁹ Then ^(A)Ahimaaz the son of Zadok said, “Let me run now and take the news to the king, how the Lord has ^[a]avenged him of his enemies.”

²⁴ So he sent his brothers away, and they departed; and he said to them, “See that you do not become troubled along the way.”

⁵ So Isaac sent Jacob away, and he went to Padan Aram, to Laban the son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, the mother of Jacob and Esau.

Esau Marries Mahalath

⁶ Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Padan Aram to take himself a wife from there, and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, “You shall not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan,”

³⁸ Now ^(A)the man from whom the demons had departed begged Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus sent him away, saying, ³⁹ “Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.” And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

²⁷ So the watchman said, ^[a]“I think the running of the first is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok.”

And the king said, “He is a good man, and comes with ^(A)good news.”

²⁸ So Ahimaaz called out and said to the king, ^[b]“All is well!” Then he bowed down with his face to the earth before the king, and said, ^(B)“Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delivered up the men who raised their hand against my lord the king!”
