³ Then Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spoke to the sons of ^(A)Heth, saying,

¹⁵ Canaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and ^(A)Heth;

³⁹ and ^(A)Uriah the Hittite: thirty-seven in all.

⁶ Then David answered, and said to Ahimelech the Hittite and to Abishai ^(A)the son of Zeruiah, brother of ^(B)Joab, saying, “Who will ^(C)go down with me to Saul in the camp?”

And ^(D)Abishai said, “I will go down with you.”

³⁰ in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre in the land of Canaan, ^(A)which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite as a possession for a burial place.

⁴⁶ And Rebekah said to Isaac, ^(A)“I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth; ^(B)if Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, like these who are the daughters of the land, what good will my life be to me?”

⁷ Then Abraham stood up and bowed himself to the people of the land, the sons of Heth.

⁵ And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,

^10 (A)the field which Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth. ^(B)There Abraham was buried, and Sarah his wife.
