⁷ In the days of her affliction and wandering
    Jerusalem remembers all the treasures
    that were hers in days of old.
When her people fell into enemy hands,
    there was no one to help her.^(A)
Her enemies looked at her
    and laughed^(B) at her destruction.

¹¹ Even small children are known by their actions,
    so is their conduct really pure^(A) and upright?

¹³ You have made us a reproach^(A) to our neighbors,^(B)
    the scorn^(C) and derision^(D) of those around us.
¹⁴ You have made us a byword^(E) among the nations;
    the peoples shake their heads^(F) at us.

¹⁰ My bones suffer mortal agony^(A)
    as my foes taunt^(B) me,
saying to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”^(C)
