¹² But God said to Abraham, “Do not let it be displeasing in your sight because of the lad or because of your bondwoman. Whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for ^(A)in Isaac your seed shall be called.

^18 [a]of whom it was said, ^(A)“In Isaac your seed shall be called,”

¹⁹ Then God said: “No, ^(A)Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My ^(B)covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.

^7 (A)nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, ^(B)“In Isaac your seed shall be called.” ⁸ That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but ^(C)the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

⁹ Now therefore, heed their voice. However, you shall solemnly forewarn them, and ^(A)show them the behavior of the king who will reign over them.”

⁷ And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for ^(A)they have not rejected you, but ^(B)they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.

²¹ But My ^(A)covenant I will establish with Isaac, ^(B)whom Sarah shall bear to you at this ^(C)set time next year.”
