⁷ Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.

⁷ For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

⁴⁵ The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.”^[a] But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit.

²⁵ and human hands can’t serve his needs—for he has no needs. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need.

⁴⁷ Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven.
