In the day that the Lord^[a] God made the earth and the heavens,

5 This is the list of the descendants of Adam. When God created humans,^[a] he made them^[b] in the likeness of God.^(A)

⁸ “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.^(A)

³⁹ When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, “The Lord indeed is God; the Lord indeed is God.”^(A)

³¹ God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.^(A)

⁴ And God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness.^(A)

⁶ and said, “O Lord, God of our ancestors, are you not God in heaven? Do you not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? In your hand are power and might, so that no one is able to withstand you.^(A)
