A Word to Husbands

^7 (A)Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, ^(B)as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, ^(C)that your prayers may not be hindered.

⁷ For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since ^(A)he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. ⁸ For man is not from woman, but woman ^(B)from man. ⁹ Nor was man created for the woman, but woman ^(C)for the man. ¹⁰ For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. ¹¹ Nevertheless, ^(D)neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord. ¹² For as woman came from man, even so man also comes through woman; but all things are from God.

¹¹ Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. ¹² And ^(A)I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. ¹³ For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

³⁶ But if any man thinks he is behaving improperly toward his ^[a]virgin, if she is past the flower of youth, and thus it must be, let him do what he wishes. He does not sin; let them marry.
