¹⁷ So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that ^[a]he said, ^(A)“Escape for your life! ^(B)Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape ^(C)to the mountains, lest you be ^[b]destroyed.”

¹⁶ “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. ¹⁷ Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. ¹⁸ And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.

¹³ Brethren, I do not count myself to have ^[a]apprehended; but one thing I do, ^(A)forgetting those things which are behind and ^(B)reaching forward to those things which are ahead, ^14 (C)I press toward the goal for the prize of ^(D)the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

⁶² But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is ^(A)fit for the kingdom of God.”

²⁶ But his wife looked back behind him, and she became ^(A)a pillar of salt.

²² Hurry, escape there. For ^(A)I cannot do anything until you arrive there.”

Therefore ^(B)the name of the city was called ^[a]Zoar.

³¹ “In that day, he ^(A)who is on the housetop, and his ^[a]goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. ^32 (B)Remember Lot’s wife.

⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, ^(A)“Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from ^(B)the wrath to come?
