³² Then he said, ^(A)“Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?”

^(B)And He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.”

³⁹ Then Gideon said to God, ^(A)“Do not be angry with me, but let me speak just once more: Let me test, I pray, just once more with the fleece; let it now be dry only on the fleece, but on all the ground let there be dew.”

¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. ^(A)And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. ^16 [a]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. ^(B)The effective, ^[b]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. ¹⁷ Elijah was a man ^(C)with a nature like ours, and ^(D)he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.

¹⁵ And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

¹⁶ If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and ^(A)He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. ^(B)There is sin leading to death. ^(C)I do not say that he should pray about that.

^7 (B)“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

²⁰ Now ^(A)to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly ^(B)above all that we ask or think, ^(C)according to the power that works in us,

⁸ Thus says the Lord:
