³² Then he said, ^(A)“Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.”

³⁹ Then Gideon said to God, ^(A)“Let not your anger burn against me; let me speak just once more. Please let me test just once more with the fleece. Please let it be dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground let there be dew.”

¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And ^(A)if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. ¹⁶ Therefore, ^(B)confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, ^(C)that you may be healed. ^(D)The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.^{[a] 17} Elijah was a man ^(E)with a nature like ours, and ^(F)he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for ^(G)three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.

¹⁵ And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

¹⁶ If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and ^(A)God^[a] will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. ^(B)There is sin that leads to death; ^(C)I do not say that one should pray for that.

Ask, and It Will Be Given

^7 (A)“Ask, ^(B)and it will be given to you; ^(C)seek, and you will find; ^(D)knock, and it will be opened to you.

^20 (A)Now to ^(B)him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, ^(C)according to the power at work within us,
