¹⁷ Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said to himself, “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”^(A)

¹⁶ Then the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God,^(A)

⁵⁶ Your ancestor Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day; he saw it and was glad.”^(A)

⁶ Now Sarah said, “God has brought laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh with me.”^(A)

¹² So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I have grown old, and my husband is old, shall I be fruitful?”^(A)

³ Then Abram fell on his face, and God said to him,

¹⁹ He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was already^[a] as good as dead (for he was about a hundred years old), and the barrenness of Sarah’s womb.^{(A) 20} No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God,

²⁸ Like the bow in a cloud on a rainy day, such was the appearance of the splendor all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.

When I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of someone speaking.^(A)

⁸ When he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb, each holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.^(A)

²⁰ Then Job arose, tore his robe, shaved his head, and fell on the ground and worshiped.^(A)
